MTI is keen on making industrial plots with full utilities
available to investors in all production sectors.
Cairo- May 15, 2022
Along
with a host of senior officials, Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea
has taken part in the international press conference held upon presidential
directions by Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to unveil the
government’s action plan to address the fallout of the global economic crisis.
“We
are keen on making industrial plots with full utilities available to investors
in all production sectors, within the country’s current shift towards deepening
local manufacturing, seeking alternatives to imports and providing input requirements,”
Gamea said during the conference.
This
in turn would help enhance the competitiveness of local products, cover the
domestic market needs, boost exports and create more jobs, she noted.
Moreover,
the minister pointed out that the premier had ordered the formation of a
committee to lay down the rules and procedures for industrial land allocation
across Egypt. The committee is chaired by head of the Industrial Development
Authority and will meet on a regular basis -every two weeks- to look into investors’
requests.
The
Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), she further added, will coordinate with the
authorities concerned to grant investors usufruct rights over these lands.
