Egypt-Nigeria trade amounted to $145 million in 2021.

On behalf of Egypt’s premier, Minister
of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir has taken part in the celebration marking the
62nd Nigeria’s Independence Day at its embassy in Cairo, in the
presence of the Nigerian minister of works and housing, Ambassador Nura Rimi, and
a host of ambassadors of foreign countries in Egypt.
Samir conveyed the greetings of
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to the Nigerian government and people on the
occasion of the 62nd independence anniversary.
“Egypt and Nigeria enjoy
long-standing ties that go back 61 years, based on mutual trust and respect,
and joint efforts in various fields,” Samir said, stressing keenness on further
deepening bilateral cooperation to best serve the interests of both nations.
He noted that economic relations
between the two countries have witnessed unprecedented momentum over the past
years. “Numerous Egyptian companies worth $1 billion are operating in the
Nigerian market, while bilateral trade amounted to $145 million in 2021,” Samir
added.
