With the participation of 17 countries, the festival featured folkloric performances, serving and
tasting of the finest traditional delicacies.

Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has inaugurated the
first international cultural festival for tasting, " Gouter", on behalf of Egypt’s Premier
Mostafa Madbouly and in the presence of Minister of Tourism and Antiquities
Khaled al-Anani.
Co-sponsored by Al-Ahram Establishment and Al-Ahram
Advertising Agency, " Gouter" is held under the auspices of the prime minister and organized
by the Al-Ahram's Nesf El-Donia magazine at the Baron Palace, Heliopolis, under
the slogan "One World - Multiple Cultures".
“Egypt is keen to deepen ties with the world and its
different cultures at the regional and global levels, being a commercial,
logistical and cultural hub linking the East and the West,” Gamea said in the speech
delivered on behalf of Prime Minister Madbouly.
She pointed out that over the ages Egypt has developed its
political, economic and social relations with all nations, and in the last
decade it sought rapprochement with Africa, in addition to the various
agreements binding it with major global economic blocs.
For his part, al-Anani stressed that the event is an
invitation to countries from all over the world to get to know each other, be harmonized
and peaceful, through blending together their different cultures.
The festival featured folkloric performances, serving and
tasting of the finest traditional delicacies, as well as exhibits of the best products
and handicrafts each country has to offer.
Participating countries included: Egypt, Palestine, Algeria,
Tunisia, Armenia, Thailand, Colombia, Russia, Spain, Slovenia, Ireland, India,
Peru, Ukraine, Indonesia, Belgium and Georgia.
