“Egypt is a major production and export hub for food
industries in the Middle East and Africa,” Gamea said, noting that investments
in the sector amount to EGP500 billion and account for 24.5% of the country’s GDP.
She added that exports of the food industry sector hit $2.35
billion during the first 6 months of the year, up 14% from $1.788 billion during
the same period of 2020.
