Meetings with export councils aim to reach a unified vision
to be presented at the first economic conference to be held in October.

Minister of Trade and Industry
Ahmed Samir has met with heads of export councils to explore means to encourage
exporters and boost local exports, with the participation of Ibrahim al-Segginy,
assistant minister for economic affairs, and Yahya al-Wathiq Billah, head of
the Egyptian Commercial Service.
Over the coming weeks, the minister
will be meeting with representatives of every five export councils to discuss
their visions and action plans to boost Egypt’s exports to the set goal of $100
billion a year, with the aim of reaching a unified vision to be presented at
the first economic conference to be held on October 23-25.
“Export is atop the ministry’s
priority issues, which include luring more investments, localizing
manufacturing and scaling up production,” Samir said.
