Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed
Samir has held meetings with Mohamed al-Sewedy, chairman of the Federation of
Egyptian Industries (FEI), and Ibrahim al-Araby, president
of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), to discuss boosting
local manufacturing and foreign trade.
“We are keen on expanding cooperation with all business entities,
especially the FEI, the FEDCOC, investors associations and
export councils; being the main partners in economic development,” Samir said,
The ministry, he added, will be adopting a participatory
approach with the parties concerned during the coming period, in order to unify
efforts and draw up a single future vision for Egypt’s industrial and
commercial sectors.
The minister further pointed out the key role played by the
private sector in advancing the national economy, stressing the need for deeper
coordination with the government to face current global economic challenges.
