The
Kingdom of Bahrain is one of Egypt’s top economic partners in the Gulf
Cooperation Council.

Minister
of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has received Bahraini Minister of Industry,
Commerce and Tourism Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani and his accompanying delegation,
where they discussed various aspects of joint economic cooperation and issues
of common interest.
“The
Kingdom of Bahrain is one of Egypt’s top economic partners among the Gulf
Cooperation Council countries, bound together by deep, longstanding ties,” Gamea said, stressing
the need to translate these strategic relations into concrete cooperation
projects that would achieve development in both countries.
Alzayani,
for his part, expressed his country’s keenness to develop its bilateral relations
with Egypt, especially in the fields of industry, commerce and tourism.
According
to official figures, Egypt-Bahrain trade hit $552 million during the first seven
months of the year, with the top goods exchanged including: vegetables, fruits,
electrical appliances, iron, steel, aluminum and plastics.
Bahrain
ranks 16th on the list of countries investing in the Egyptian market, with a
total capital worth $3.286 billion in 216 projects, mainly in the sectors of
finance, construction, industry, agriculture, tourism, services, IT and communications.
