Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir has met with UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla Bin Touq al-Marri and his accompanying delegation, to explore means of bolstering mutual economic cooperation.

“Egypt-UAE relations are a model of strategic ties built on achieving integration across a variety of fields and levels,” Samir said, noting that this October marks 50 years since diplomatic relations were established between the two nations.

He pointed out that the business community in both countries play a major role in boosting bilateral trade and investments. “We stand committed to supporting investors operating in the local market,” Samir added.

Moreover, the minister highlighted the importance of the Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Growth signed with Jordan and Bahrain in enhancing food and drug security, especially in the midst of the current global economic crisis.

Al-Marri, for his part, invited Samir to participate, with a delegation of Egyptian businessmen, in the 2nd Investopia Annual Conference organized by the government in Abu Dhabi next March.
