Trade minister, Jordanian counterpart discuss further cooperation

Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir has met with Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef Alshamali on the sidelines of the 110th meetings of the Arab League's Economic and Social Council, where they discussed boosting mutual cooperation, as well as with other Arab countries.

The meeting also agreed on joining efforts to eliminate obstacles holding up bilateral trade and exploiting the full economic potential of both markets.

According to official data, Egypt-Jordan trade hit $775 million in 2021, with Egyptian exports at $572 million. Goods exchanged include: food, furniture, agricultural products, fertilizers, veterinary drugs and carpets.
