Minister of Trade and Industry
Ahmed Samir was received today by Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas
Helmy in the latter’s office, where they discussed boosting air freight for Egyptian
agricultural exports, in light of a national trend towards scaling up foreign
trade.
Helmy stressed his ministry’s
keenness on closer cooperation with the
Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) to eliminate all obstacles holding up
Egypt’s trade flows, especially with Cairo International Airport ranking second
in air freight across Africa in 2021, according to the Airports Council
International’s data.
“MTI seeks to facilitate the export
of local goods, especially agricultural products which have special
requirements in terms of transportation,” Samir said, for his part.
