Ministers
of Trade and Investment, Amr Nassar and Sahar Nasr respectively, met with Director-General
of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) Li Yong on
the sideline of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development
(TICAD 7).
The
meeting discussed potential cooperation projects between the Egyptian
government and the UNIDO in the coming period.
Nassar
underscored the importance of the Organization’s development projects carried
out in Egypt as well as across Africa.
The
ministers also invited Yong to participate in the Africa Investment Forum, to
be held in Cairo in November, and in the “Made in Africa” conference, organized
by the Ministry of Trade and Industry within the event.
Yong,
for his part, praised the recent economic reforms and the national mega
projects undertaken by the government, stressing the UNIDO’s keenness to
support Egypt along the way.
