The total of operational factories in Robeiki reached 24, spanning a wide range of tanning activities.
Cairo- Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil went today on an inspection tour to follow up on the work underway in al-Robeiki Leather City.
Kabil visited four new factories that have already started production, increasing the total of operational factories to 24, spanning a wide range of tanning activities.
“Relocation of tanneries from Magra al-Oyoun region to Robeiki aims to develop the local leather industry in the first place,” he said. The ministry, he stressed, is willing to offer all support to complete the relocation process, noting that the government will cover all costs included.
Over an area of 135,000 square meters, the second phase of the city will be completed by April 2018, Kabil added.
