Ahmed Samir has inaugurated today, on behalf of Prime Minister Mosatfa
Madbouly, the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Business Forum, held in Cairo on October 2-3,
with the participation of a host of businessmen from both countries,
“Egypt and Kuwait enjoy strategic economic
ties, based on long-standing cooperation in a wide range of fields,” Samir
said, stressing the key role played by the business community in further
deepening mutual relations.
Samir added that both governments
are keen on boosting joint investments, noting that Egypt boasts a
business-friendly climate and a large scope of opportunities for fresh Kuwaiti
capital.
“Bilateral trade grew 21% to hit $305
million last year, and amounted to $242 million in the first seven months of 2022,”
he pointed out. Some 1,337 joint companies operate in the local market mainly
in the finance and industrial sectors.
