Minister of Trade and Industry
Ahmed Samir has received a delegation from the Coordination Committee of
Parties’ Youth Leaders and Politicians (CPYP), led by MP Ghada Ali, where they
discussed the ministry’s action plan to boost local industry and exports.
Samir pointed out that the ministry
is working on a new national industry strategy that creates a supportive legislative
and financial environment with geographic, sector-based incentives. It will be
up for community dialogue by all parties concerned, with the participation of
academia and experts in the manufacturing field.
“We seek to raise the industrial
sector’s contribution to GDP and the competitiveness of local products on
domestic and foreign markets,” he said, adding that the ministry is also
reviewing industry-related legislations for necessary amendments.
