Cairo- Oct 31, 2022
Minister of Trade and Industry
Ahmed Samir has attended the closing ceremony of the first International
Manufacturing Convention and Exhibition (IMCE), organized by the Federation of Egyptian
Industries (FEI) at Al-Manara International Conference Center to celebrate its
100th anniversary.
“The Ministry of Trade and Industry
is working on a comprehensive strategy to develop national industry, in
coordination with the business organizations, mainly the FEI,” Samir said in
his keynote speech, noting that it will be finalized within three months.
He pointed out that Prsident Sisi’s
decision to grant a ‘golden license’ to investors is a breakthrough for Egypt’s
business community and a mainstay for boosting its industrial sector and luring
more local and foreign capital.
The state, he added, gives unprecedented
attention to this vital sector, being the driver of economic growth and cornerstone
of inclusive and sustainable development.
Moreover, the minister toured the
exhibition held concurrently with the forum, accompanied by head of the FEI
Mohamed el-Sewedy. The expo, which extends over the area of 12,000 sqm, houses pavilions
for various industries, including: engineering, food, textiles, construction
materials, machinery, furniture and handicrafts.
