Ahmed Samir has received Lebanese Minister of Agriculture Abbas AL Hajj Hassan
in Cairo, where they discussed deepening economic cooperation between Egypt and
Lebanon especially in agro industry
for domestic and export purposes.
The meeting explored means to
facilitate mutual access of agricultural products between the two markets to
further boost bilateral trade.
“The ministry is keen on offering
all support for Lebanese investments in the local market,” Samir said, hailing the
longstanding ties binding both nations and their business communities.
According to official figures, Egypt-Lebanon
trade grew 33% to $502 million in 2021, with Egypt’s exports rising 18% from a
year earlier.
