Cairo- Oct 3, 2021
A 19-member delegation
from the Zambian Command and Staff College has visited the Robbiki Leather City,
accompanied by representatives of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA).
The visit
included a presentation of the project and its three phases and a field visit of
three tanneries there.
Officials from both sides discussed transferring
the Egyptian expertise to the Zambian leather industry, as well as building
fruitful partnerships with African countries in general and Zambia in
particular.
The project comes following presidential
directives to relocate all tanneries across the country to the newly-established
integrated leather city of Robbiki, which houses fully-equipped manufacturing
facilities and others for leather-related industries, in addition to a permanent exhibition
of final products.
