The newly-appointed minister has made his first statements to
the media.

The newly-appointed Minister of Trade
and Industry Ahmed Samir Saleh has affirmed his keenness on advancing local manufacturing
and foreign trade in a way that would benefit the national economy and improve living
standards.
“The ministry will be working
diligently to deepen existing industries, enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian
products on the global market, lure more foreign investments and cater to local
market needs,” Saleh said in his first statement after being sworn-in.
He added that there will be more
coordination with the business community of producers, exporters and importers
to outline the action plan for the coming period, being key partners in
achieving the country’s development goals.
