A
delegation of 15 South African companies will visit Egypt early next month to
participate in the joint business forum to be held in Cairo.

Minister
of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar has met with South African Minister of Trade
and Industry Ebrahim Patel, on the sidelines of Africa Investment Forum, which kicked
off yesterday under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah al Sisi in the new
administrative city.
The
one-on-one discussed the future of economic relations between Egypt and South
Africa and means of boosting bilateral trade and investment.
“There are ample investment opportunities in
the Egyptian market for South Africa’s business community, especially in
mining, communications, IT, agriculture, construction, renewable energy,
tourism and banking,” Nassar said.
Patel,
for his part, noted that a delegation of 15 South African companies operating
in the fields of chemicals, construction, energy and engineering industries
will visit Egypt early next month to participate in the joint business forum to
be held in Cairo.
According
to official data, trade between the two countries grew by 4.8% to reach $291
million in 2018, compared to $277.5 million a year earlier.
