Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar has met with South Korean Ambassador to Egypt Yoon Yeocheol and his accompanying delegation to discuss mutual cooperation between the two countries in the coming period.
The meeting explored preparations for the next Egyptian-Korean business forum and meetings of the joint business council, both to be held in Cairo on October 7-9.
20 of the top South Korean companies in various industrial fields will be visiting Egypt this week to participate in the business forum and meet with Egyptian counterparts.
"There are ample opportunities for mutual cooperation, especially in the areas of: automotives, ship making, construction industries, technical education and training, textiles, IT, and electronics," Nassar said.
According to official figures, Egypt-South Korea trade grew significantly last year to $2.160 billion, up 52.5% from a year earlier. Main Egyptian exports to South Korea include: medicines, fertilizers, carpets, granite, chemicals and marble.
