Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar has met with a delegation from Japanese giant carmaker Toyota, led by Toshimitsu Imai, Toyota Tsusho’s chief operations officer in charge of the Africa division, who is currently visiting Egypt.

The meeting discussed the company’s desire to take part in the national project to convert public transport diesel vehicles into gas-powered ones, where it has a vast expertise.

The two sides also discussed Toyota’s expansion plans in Egypt, including car assembling and manufacturing lines, as well as exporting opportunities to regional and international markets.

“We are fully committed to offer all support to foreign investors,” Nassar stressed.

The meeting comes as a follow-up to President Abdel Fattah Sisi’s talks with the head of Toyota Motor Corporation on the sidelines of G20 summit, held in Osaka, Japan, last June.
