Manturov’s visit corresponds with
the Big Industrial Week and the third round of Egypt-EEC FTA talks, both currently
held in Cairo.

Minister
of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar has received his Russian counterpart Denis
Manturov and his accompanying delegation, currently on a two-day visit to Egypt
to meet with senior government officials to explore the future of mutual
cooperation between the two countries.
The
two ministers opened yesterday the Big Industrial Week Industrial and
Technology Trade Fair and Forum, held in Cairo on October 8-10 with the
participation of over 110 companies. Organized by Russian Formika Group, the
event is the first analogue of the INNOPROM International Industrial Trade Fair
abroad.
They
also co-chaired meetings of the 12th session of the Joint
Russian-Egyptian Commission on Trade, Economic and Scientific-Technical
Cooperation, held in Cairo today. The discussions explored potential
cooperation opportunities in the fields of: trade, manufacturing, energy,
education, agriculture, communications, IT, healthcare, transport and tourism.
On a
similar note, the third round of negotiations for a free trade agreement between Egypt and the
Eurasian Economic Union is being held in Cairo on Oct 8-10. The meetings discuss
a range of issues including: trade in goods and services, certificates of
origin and technical barriers to trade, among others.
