Egyptian-Belarusian trade increased 43.5% during the
first 9 months of 2019.

Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar discussed with
his Belarusian counterpart Pavel Utupin and his accompanying delegation ways of
boosting industrial and investment ties between the two countries.
In this regard, Nassar said the volume of trade
exchange between Egypt and Belarus witnessed a significant increase of 43.5% during
the first 9 months of the year 2019 to reach $107.5 million, compared to about
$75 million in the same period the year before.
“The most
important Egyptian exports to Belarus are: agricultural products,
pharmaceuticals and ready-made garments; while iron, steel, machinery,
equipment and fertilizers are among its imports,”
Nassar indicated.
He also pointed to the possibility of starting joint
Egyptian-Belarusian ventures especially in the manufacture of tractors,
loaders, trucks and pumps to meet domestic market needs and export to
neighboring countries.
Utupin,
for his part, stressed the keenness of the Belarusian government and business
communities to invest in the Suez Canal economic zone and in other various
industrial sectors, especially that the region is an important industrial hub.
