Minister of
Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has directed the Industrial Modernization
Center (IMC) to count the factories in various manufacturing sectors, with the
aim of participating in presidential initiative “Decent Life” and studying potential
technical support services and labor that could be provided.
“Decent Life is a distinct opportunity for local
industry. It will help factories operate at full capacity, lure new investments
into the domestic market, as well as create new jobs,” Gamea said.
She pointed out
that factories would cater to the industrial requirements necessary to
implement the initiative, which was launched by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi
to improve the quality of life in rural areas and achieve sustainable
development.
Mohammed
Abdel-Kareem, CEO of the IMC, noted that this initiative will also increase the
manufacturing sector's contribution to GDP.
