ECA plays a fundamental role in supporting
the national industry, protecting SMEs from monopolistic
practices.

Minister of
Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has issued a decree forming the new board of
the Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA) for a period of four years.
Chaired by
Mahmoud Momtaz, the board members include: vice-president of the State Council,
head of the Egyptian Commercial Service, representatives of the Ministry of
Trade and Industry, and the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, as well as law
and economics experts.
“ECA plays
a fundamental role in supporting the national industry, attracting more
investments, creating jobs and protecting medium and small companies from any monopolistic
practices,” Gamea said.
