well as export markets with essential medical equipment for combatting
coronavirus.
Cairo-
September 16, 2020
Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has announced resuming
exports of all types of alcohol and its derivatives, surgical masks, and coronavirus
protective equipment to all foreign markets.
The decree, hence, rescinds Ministerial Decrees No. 186 and No.
187 of 2020 halting the export of alcohol and by-products; surgical masks and
infection prevention equipment, respectively.
The minister pointed out that the decision came after
coordination with the Unified Medical Procurement Authority, on the grounds
that there is a sufficient stock of such products to cover the local demand.
“The government is keen to fully provide domestic as well as
export markets with essential medical equipment for combatting coronavirus,”
Gamea stressed.
She added that the ministerial order concerns exports of medical
products, including: alcohol of all kinds and its derivatives, protective
suits, latex gloves, surgical masks, N95 masks, face shields, and protective
glasses.
