The decree extends the shelf life
of frozen fish to nine months and frozen liver to ten.

Gamea has issued a decree extending the shelf life of frozen fish and liver, according
to ES No: 2613-2/2008 (Shelf Life For Food Products, Part Two), to be nine months
for frozen fish and ten for frozen liver from the date of slaughter, as of January
1 until June 30, 2022.
“The move contributes to the stability of the supply
chains of these goods in the local market,” Khaled Soufy, head the Egyptian
Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, said.
He added that the decision comes in
full coordination with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade and the
Chamber of Food Industries.
