Gamea has issued a decree extending for a period of one year the country’s
imported wheat moisture limit of 13.5%, stipulated in Ministerial Decree No. 90
of 2021, as of April 3, 2022.
The decision comes on a request by
the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade to extend the deadline for wheat moisture
specifications, to ensure the availability of the strategic commodity to Egyptian
consumers with the necessary quality.
Codex Alimentarius determines the
moisture content in wheat for each country depending on each one’s climate.
