The decree extends final dumping duties on synthetic fiber blankets originating in or exported from China for five years.

Cairo- July 1, 2020

Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has issued a decree extending final dumping duties previously imposed on fiber blankets originating in or exported from China for five years ending on August 24, 2025, with a rate ranging 54-77% of the CIF value, as low as $1.53/kg to $1.89/kg.

The decision includes blankets made of synthetic fiber of different sizes and weights, even those in roll shapes, excluding electric ones.

The MTI’s Trade Remedies Sector had received a fully-documented request from the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) to review the final anti-dumping duties imposed on imports of synthetic fiber blankets under the pretext of possible continued or repeated dumping and damage to domestic industry in case the duties in force were lifted, said Ibrahim al-Segginy, head of the sector.
