The decree bans exports of scrap and raw copper,
lead, stainless steel, iron, aluminum, zinc, scrap paper and cardboard.

Minister of Trade and Industry has
issued a decree banning the export of some types of scrap and raw materials for
a period of six months, including: copper, lead, stainless steel, iron, aluminum,
zinc, scrap paper and cardboard.
“The move comes upon complaints lodged
by the Chamber of Engineering Industries and the Chamber of Metallurgical Industries
about the damage done to many companies due to the lack of various raw
materials and their high prices on the local market,” said Ibrahim al-Seguini, assistant
minister for economic affairs.
