The competition awarded 122 food
products out of the total 645 participating with 51 gold, 34 silver and 37
bronze medals.

The “National
Contest for Typical Products”, organized by the Ministry of Trade and Industry
in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization
(UNIDO), has concluded, as well as the marketing exhibition held concurrently
with the participation of 100 contestants.
The
competition awarded 122 food products out of the total 645 participating
with 51 gold, 34 silver and 37 bronze medals.
UNIDO Regional
Director Bassel al-Khatib and FAO Representative in Egypt Nasredin Hag Elamin
attended the closing ceremony, along with a host of senior officials.
“The
competition aims to preserve Egyptian cuisine and enhance value chains for traditional
foods on the local and foreign markets,” al-Khatib said.
