The meeting
has discussed a potential project to produce AC compressors in cooperation with
Elarabi Group.

Minister of
Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir has received a delegation from Taiwanese
manufacturer Rechi to discuss a potential project to produce air conditioning compressors
in cooperation with Elarabi Group in Egypt.
The new
venture, at an estimated $33 million, will be established in the Kom Abu Radi
industrial park in Beni Suef, over an area of 60,000 square meters. Scheduled
to start actual production in 2024, the factory’s capacity will reach 6 million
compressors annually, with an initial 2 million units in the pilot stage.
“The
partnership aims to cover local market needs and export half of its production
abroad,” Samir said, noting that the project will use local content at 50% in
its final products, which will be increased gradually through the coming years.
