The meeting
discussed cooperation in transferring Egypt’s expertise in the establishment
and development of industrial zones to Libyan industry.

Head
of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) Mohamed al-Zalat has received Libyan
Minister of Industry and Minerals Ahmed Abu Heisa and his accompanying
delegation currently visiting Cairo.
The two
sides discussed cooperation in transferring Egypt’s expertise in the
establishment and development of industrial zones to Libyan industry, and other
potential areas.
The
meeting comes as a continuation of talks held between Minister of Trade and
Industry Nevine Gamea and her Libyan counterpart to discuss ways to strengthen industrial
cooperation between the two countries.
During
the meeting, al-Zalat gave a presentation to inform the Libyan side of the
authority's activity and its efforts to develop industry, deepen local
industrialization, localize modern technology, establish industrial zones, as
well as industrial complexes for small investors.
Heisa,
for his part, pointed out that Libya possesses promising investment
opportunities for industrial integration with Egypt in several areas, including
building materials especially cement and steel industries.
