The Polish industrial zone will be established in Ain Sokhna,
over an area of 400 to 1,000,000 sqm and will specialize in food, electronic,
and auto spare part industries.

Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has witnessed the
signing of a framework agreement between the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone)
and Poland’s Katowice Special Economic Zone, to set up a Polish industrial zone
in Ain Sokhna.
The agreement includes the establishment of an economic zone
over an area of 400 to 1,000,000 square metres (sqm) specialized in food,
electronic and auto spare part industries.
“The Polish industrial zone is a key step towards advancing
economic relations between the two countries,” Gamea said, noting that it will be
the first industrial zone for an EU country in Egypt.
The project, she added, will open new horizons for more joint
trade and investments and help transfer Polish industrial expertise to the local
industry, especially in the fields of :information
technology, machinery, equipment, railways, transport and communications.
The agreement was
signed by Yahya Zaki, head of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, and Janusz
Michalek, President of the Katowice Special Economic Zone, in the presence of
Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński, Secretary of State for Economic
Development Grzegorz Piechowiak and Polish Ambassador in Cairo Michał Łabenda.

official figures, Egypt-Poland trade doubled to about $672 million in 2019.
