signing of a cooperation protocol to
establish a waste recycling project.

Minister
of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has participated in the closing workshop of
the Green Growth project, entitled “Green Growth: Industrial Waste Management
and SME Entrepreneurship Hub in Egypt,” along with Minister of Higher Education
Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, via video conference, and in the presence of Malinne
Blomberg, the country manager at the African Development Bank Group.
During
the session, the two ministers witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol
between the Cleaner Production Technology Center, affiliate to Technology and Innovation
Industrial Council and the Delta Technology University in the industrial city
of Quesna to establish a waste recycling project that integrates industry
partners.
“The
protocol is one of the most important outputs of the industrial waste management
project, and aims to encourage small and medium-sized industries and
entrepreneurship in Egypt,” Gamea said.
She
pointed out that the most important outputs of the project included the
establishment of an electronic platform for exchanging industrial wastes, which
has registered more than 160 companies before its official launch today, in
addition to awarenewss programs to build the capabilities of industrialists and
investors.
The
project, which is implemented by the Cleaner Production Technology Center, has
contributed to boosting national industry through making use of industrial
waste while protecting the environment, the minister further noted.
