Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea participated
today- via video conference – at the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham)’s
monthly meeting, entitled “Egypt’s Industrial and Trade Strategy: Developments
Beyond the Crisis”.
The minister announced that a new export subsidy program is
being formulated, in cooperation with all parties concerned, with the aim of
boosting exports, enhancing their competitiveness and opening new markets
abroad.
“The ministry is keen on supporting the business community,
as a principal partner in the economic reform process and the achievement of
targeted development rates,” Gamea stressed.
The government, she added, is currently working to set up electronic
trade platforms with various markets, especially in Africa, Egypt being its
gateway for European markets.
