Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine
Gamea has held a meeting with Abdullah Ahmed al-Sabeeh, director-general of the
Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (Dhaman) and his
accompanying delegation, to discuss ways to benefit from the corporation’s programs
in promoting trade and investment.
Kuwait-based, Dhaman is a non-profit
pioneer multinational organization, owned by the governments of Arab states and
four Arab financial institutions, that provides guarantee services against
commercial and non-commercial risks.
“The ministry is keen on boosting
cooperation with Arab economic entities in a way that would benefit Egypt’s economy
and promote regional intra-trade and investment,” Gamea said.
She also lauded Dhaman’s key role in supporting economic
development efforts in the Arab world, by providing political risk insurance for
investors, exporters and importers, which contributes to accelerating the
movement of trade and investments between Arab countries as well as attracting
more FDIs.
