“Egypt’s political leadership is
keen to achieve an integrated development in Upper Egypt, which was reflected
in the “Upper Egypt Week” where President Sisi inaugurated several national
projects and industrial complexes in a number of governorates,” Gamea said in
her speech, reviewing the government's efforts to make a quantum leap in the
region.
In this respect, Gamea pointed out
that the government launched the Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS): Egypt
Vision 2030, which aims to create a competitive, balanced and diversified
economy, dependent on innovation and knowledge, investing the ingenuity of
place and humans to achieve sustainable development and to improve Egyptians'
life quality.
MTI, she added, is implementing
several national projects to deepen local industrialization, including a local

participation in the “Decent Life” presidential initiative.
Besides establishing specialized
industrial complexes at a cost of EGP 10 billion mainly in Upper Egypt, the
ministry also allocated some 9,127 thousand square meters of land for
industrial use, and issued 7,540 industrial licenses and 7,454 first-time
operating permits, Gamea added.
