Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has taken part in
a virtual event organized by the United Nations Industrial Development
Organization (UNIDO) entitled “Industry 4.0 in Egypt: Enhancing the Readiness for
the Adoption of Industry 4.0,” in the presence of Minister of International
Cooperation Rania al-Mashat.
The webinar discussed the necessity of digitizing the world’s
industries and trade channels in alignment with the UN’s Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs).
“Egypt’s political leadership deems it highly important that all
economic sectors embrace digital transformation and the Fourth Industrial
Revolution techniques,” Gamea said.
The ministry, she added, is keen to adopt policies that promote
the localization of advanced technologies in the national industry, and is shifting
towards high added-value industries such as: electric cars, computers,
machinery and equipment.
