Berlin- June 22, 2022
Minister of Trade and Industry
Nevine Gamea has taken part in the 25th Arab-German Business Forum, organized
by the Arab German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ghorfa) in Berlin, on June
21-23
The conference features panel
discussions, roundtables and country workshops that focus on the key sectors creating
opportunities and growth.
The three-day event will be
attended by Chairman of Ghorfa Peter Ramsauer and Secretary-General Abdulaziz
Al-Mikhlafi, as well as 600 Arab and German businessmen.
“Egypt and Germany celebrate 70
years of diplomatic relations which have since enjoyed substantial momentum,”
Gamea said in her keynote speech, noting that trade between the two countries hit
€5.1 billion in 2021.
She pointed out that under the
EU-Egypt Association Agreement, Egypt represents a trade bridge linking Arab
and European markets, and a hub for German companies wishing to enter the Arab
world.
The minister, furthermore, called
on the private sector from both sides to inject more joint investments in Egypt’s
local market, with its great potential and vast access to Africa and various
markets across the globe.
