Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has taken part in
the conference organized by Dar Al Tahrir for Printing and Publishing to launch
Al-Gomhouria book that chronicles the Decent Life initiative, entitled “60
Million Lives, The President Enters The Egyptian Village” under the patronage of Prime Minister Mostafa
Madbouly.
Attendees included: the ministers of local development, immigration,
social solidarity, along with a number of governors and members of Senate and Parliament.
“The necessary measures are being taken to establish 317
artisanal and professional industrial complexes in main villages under the
national project for the development of the Egyptian countryside, ‘Decent Life’,”
Gamea said.
Industrial parks, she explained, is a key part of the
ministry’s action plan to promote industrial development, increase the manufacturing
sector’s contribution to GDP, create jobs for the youth and meet the needs of
the local market.
The minister further added that the Micro, Small & Medium
Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) aims to pump EGP 1.4 billion, finance 60,000
projects and provide 100,000 job opportunities within the initiative's scope.
The agency, she noted, has so far injected EGP 424.6 million in
the targeted villages during the first half of the year, which included
financing 2,025 small and 15,704 micro projects with sums worth EGP 117.6
million and EGP 307 million, creating 1,840 and 26,348 jobs, respectively.
