400 local and international
companies are taking part in the expo.

On
behalf of Egypt’s premier, Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has
inaugurated the sixth “Food Africa” exhibition, held at the Egypt International
Exhibition Center on December 12-14, with the participation of 400 local and
international companies, in the presence of Minister of Supply Ali al Moselhy.
The
inauguration ceremony was attended by heads of the Food Export Council, the
Agricultural Export Council, the Chamber of Food Industries and the Printing
Industries Chamber.
According
to official data, exports of food industries hit $3.104 billion during the
first nine months, up 19% from $2.608 billion during the same period in 2020, ranking
as Egypt’s third largest export sector, mainly to the markets of Saudi Arabia,
the United States of America, Jordan, Algeria and Libya.
Similarly,
Egypt's exports of agricultural crops grew 8% to about $1. 976 billion during
the January-September period, compared to $1.822 billion a year earlier. Russia,
Saudi Arabia, Britain and the UAE are the sector’s top export markets.
Other
events are held concurrently with Food Africa, including: Pacprocess for
packaging and food processing, organized in cooperation with German Messe
Düsseldorf fair authority, Sea Food Africa, Ingredients Africa, Dates Africa,
and Fresh Africa.
