Nevine Gamea has inaugurated the General Organization for Export and Import
Control (GOEIC)’s new building of inspection laboratories at the Dekheila Port
in Alexandria.
The new building includes 29 laboratories
covering all types of examination, four of them specialized in testing polymers,
biodegradable plastics, detergents, wood, building materials and textiles.
“We are keen on improving the services provided to the
community of exporters and importers,” Gamea said, noting that the ministry is
working to develop the procedural system in all the GOEIC branches, which would
help accelerate shipment inspection and clearance processes.
The minister was accompanied by Essam
al-Nagar, chairman of the GOEIC; Mohamed al-Zallat, head of the Industrial
Development Authority; and Mahmoud Mahrez, president of Cairo Investment
Company.
