Minister
of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has inaugurated the eighth “Akhbar Al-Youm” economic conference, in the presence of ministers
of electricity, petroleum, tourism, youth and sports, Head of Egypt's National
Press Authority (NPA) Abdel-Sadek Shorbagy and Chairman of Akhbar Al Youm
Foundation Ahmed Galal, along with a host of businessmen.
“The
comprehensive economic reform program adopted by the government is progressing
steadily towards achieving its objectives, hence, rendering Egypt a favorable
destination for local and foreign investment, and a global economic player,”
Gamea said in a keynote speech delivered on behalf of Prime Minister Mostafa
Madbouli.
She pointed
out that there are ample opportunities for investment in the local market, which
offers with a great range of investment choice and has a huge potential for growth.
The government,
Gamea added, had launched the Egypt 2030 strategy, with the aim of creating a
diversified, competitive private sector-led economy, characterized by a stable business
climate, sustainable growth, maximized added value and offering appropriate job
opportunities.
