Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has met with the board of the Productivity and Vocational Training Department (PVTD) to review the ministry's strategy to develop technical and vocational training centers across the country, in the presence of center representatives.
"Upgrading the technical and vocational training system is essential to achieve the objectives of the ministry's plan to localize modern technology and provide decent and sustainable work for youth," Gamea said, noting that it would also help boost the competitiveness of products, increase exports and achieve comprehensive economic development.
The ministry, she added, is keen to strengthen partnership with the private sector to develop technical education and vocational training in Egypt, in a way that contributes to maintaining the sustainability and competitiveness of local industry.
Gamea also stressed the need to link the work of the PVTD with the other affiliate authorities concerned, including the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) and the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC).
