Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has met with Abdulla
bin Touq al-Marri, minister of economy of the United Arab Emirates, on the
sidelines of the 108th meeting of the Arab League’s Economic and Social Council (ECS)
at the ministerial level.
The meeting discussed means to boost economic cooperation between
the two countries, as well as Egypt’s participation in Expo 2020 in Dubai, among
other issues of common interest.
“Strengthening economic cooperation between Egypt and the UAE
is a major priority for the Egyptian political leadership,” Gamea said.
The two ministers agreed to form a working group from both
sides to explore further ways to facilitate trade movement between both markets.
According to official figures, bilateral trade amounted to $1.596
billion during the first half of the year.
