Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea headed to the United Arab Emirates, on an
official visit to hold meetings with a number of senior Emirati officials and chair
the first meeting of the Egyptian-Emirati Business Council.
Gamea met with Sultan
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, group chairman and CEO of DP World, to explore the authority’s
current and future projects in Egypt and ways to enhance joint cooperation,
especially in the African market.
The two sides
also discussed potential cooperation between the DP authority and Egypt’s
Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises Development Authority in the electronic marketing
of SME products, especially handicrafts and traditional ones, on the latter’s
digital marketing platforms.
Likewise, Gamea met
with representatives of Dubai Investments PJSC to discuss the company's plans
to establish an integrated investment complex in Kom Oshim in Fayoum.
The minister, moreover,
toured the Egyptian Pavilion under preparation at Expo 2020 Dubai, in the
presence of a large number of Emirati officials, where she held talks with Minister
of State and Managing Director for the Dubai World Expo 2020 Reem al-Hashimi.
