Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has left for the
Russian capital Moscow, leading the Egyptian delegation at the 13th round
of the Egyptian-Russian Joint Committee for Trade, Economic, Scientific and
Technical Cooperation, held on June 22 to 24.
The committee will discuss a number of issues of common
interest in the fields of: economy, trade, industry, energy, education,
agriculture, IT, communications, health, transportation and tourism, and most
notably cooperation to eliminate non-tariff obstacles hindering the flow of
trade between Cairo and Moscow.
On the sidelines of the committee's work, Gamea is scheduled
to hold bilateral meetings with senior officials of the Russian Federation,
including Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov and Andrey
Slepnev, minister in charge of trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Meetings of the technical committees of the Egyptian-Russian
Joint Committee began this morning at the expert level, chaired by Ahmed
Maghawry, head of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS), on the Egyptian side, with
the participation of representatives of the ministries and relevant authorities
from the two countries.
