Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has held an expanded meeting with senior officials to discuss preparations for Egypt’s participation as a guest of honor at the 25th St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF’ 25), to be held in St. Petersburg, Russia, on June 15–18.

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled El-Anany and Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar attended the meeting, as well as heads of the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Suez Canal Economic Zone, representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs and communications, in addition to Yasser Mostafa, head of the Egyptian commercial office in Russia, via video conference.

The meeting aimed to coordinate between the various ministries and relevant authorities regarding the organization of the Egyptian pavilion at the forum, intended to reflect the country’s current economic achievements and vision for the future.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry had been assigned by Prime Minsiter Mostafa Madbouly to oversee the establishment and equipment of the pavilion, after its successful story at Expo 2020 Dubai. The Egyptian and Russian presidents are scheduled to visit Egypt Pavilion at SPIEF’ 25.

Anani highlighted the significance of the event in promoting Egypt as one of the world’s top touristic and archeological destinations, especially with Russia being Egypt’s most valuable tourism export markets.
