Egypt’s exports to Brazil grew
significantly after joining the Mercosur trade bloc to reach $541 last year, up
from $155 in 2017.

Gamea has given Egypt’s speech at the Arab-Brazil Economic Forum, via video
conference, organized by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and the Union
of Arab Chambers under the slogan: "Heritage and Innovation".
“Brazil enjoys deep, long-standing
ties with Egypt, being its largest trade partner in Latin America,” Gamea said,
noting that Egypt- Brazil trade hit $2.5 billion in 2021.
She pointed out that Egypt’s
exports to Brazil grew significantly after joining the Mercosur trade bloc to
reach $541 last year, up from $155 back in 2017.
The minister further called upon the
Brazilian business community to explore the ample investment opportunities
available in the local market, especially in the fields of transport, spare
parts, pharmaceuticals, engineering industries, textiles and renewable energy.
